HONG KONG THERAPISTS HONORED BY NEURO-IFRAH ORG FOR ASSISTING IN ARRANGING CONTINUING EDUCATION TO ADVANCE CLINICAL PRACTICE IN THE TREATMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF PATIENTS EFFECTED BY A STROKE OR BRAIN INJURY IN HONG KONG

Ms. Anna Wu provided rehabilitation services in public hospital settings in Hong Kong for over 30 years before retiring in 2023. Her experience spans diverse areas—from pediatrics (including NICU) to orthopedics, plastic surgery, and neurological rehabilitation. Throughout her career, she received positive feedback and appreciation from both hospital management and clients for her compassionate care and skilled techniques. Moreover, to strive for excellence, she obtained three Masters Degrees including Health Technology, Public Health and Innovative Multimedia Technology. In the early 2000s, she took on roles in both the Coordinating Committee (Occupational Therapy) of Hospital Authority and Hong Kong Occupational Therapy Association to promote continuing education. She successfully liaised with Mr. Waleed Al-Oboudi to have him conduct training courses in Hong Kong. Since 2006, Neuro-IFRAH training courses have been conducted continuously in Hong Kong, with over 500 local therapists participating in basic to advanced level courses and now there are 25 Neuro-IFRAH instructors® in Hong Kong as well. Anna has been granted honorary Neuro-IFRAH Instructor® status due to all her efforts throughout the years. These courses have significantly impacted on the quality of stroke rehabilitation services locally. Following her retirement from the Hospital Authority, Ms. Wu served as a Senior Clinical Associate for the Occupational Therapy program at Tung Wah College for 2 years and is now retired.
